The electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction are most prominent reaction of benzene and its derivatives. In this reaction, an electrophile is generated and that electrophile subsititute the group at benzene ring. The double bond of the benzene ring attacks at first on the electrophile generating a positive charge on the ring. The group to be substituted eliminates leaving its bond electrons to regenerate the double bond.
