The molar mass of geraniol is 150.03 g/mol
Explanation of Solution
The formula to calculate density is given by:
D= PMRT∴M=DRTP
According to the statement:
P=0.140 atmD=0.480 g/LR=0.0821 LatmK-1mol-1T=260 °C =260+273 =533 K
Now substituting the values into formula,
M=DRTP =0.480×0.0821×5330.140=150.03 g/mol
Therefore density of the gas is 4.55 g/L
The molar mass of geraniol is 150.03 g/mol.
