To display the data given above in a box-and-whisker plot, first order the data to find the median, the quartiles, and the extremes.

Median $=\frac{102+104}{2}=\frac{206}{2}=103$

Lower quartile $=\frac{96+98}{2}=97$

Upper quartile $=\frac{106+107}{2}=107$

Plot the median, the quartiles, and the extremes below a number line

Draw a box from the lower quartile to the upper quartile. Then draw a vertical line through the median and draw a horizontal line from the box to each of the extremes.
