Chapter 11.7, Problem 1MQ
Summary Introduction
A cloning vector is a small piece of a genetic element, which is taken either from a plasmid or from a phage. In this cloning vector, the foreign DNA fragments can be inserted for cloning. It is a self-replicating vector and contains multiple restriction sites for the restriction endonucleases. It also contains a marker gene for detecting the presence of vector DNA in the host. Many numbers of genes of interest is produced using the cloning vector.
