The major adenosine triphosphate (ATP) molecules are produced by the electron transport system of aerobic respiration. The electron transport system comprises the processes of electron transport chain (ETC) and chemiosmosis. The ETC helps in transfer of electron, and chemiosmosis uses these electrons to generate ATP.
