The length of lights required is $2\left(8\sqrt{2}\right)=16\sqrt{2}$ feet.

Given information :

Here we shall find the length of the hypotenuse.

As the triangle is divided into two similar triangles.

We shall take any of the left or right triangle.

Here we can say that,

$\begin{array}{l}\sin {45}^{\circ }=\frac{8}{\text{hypotenuse}}\\ \text{hypotenuse = }8\sqrt{2}\end{array}$

Hence the length of lights required is $2\left(8\sqrt{2}\right)=16\sqrt{2}$ feet.
