Given Information:

Vertices of the quadrilateral are (7,2),(2,8),(6,2)and(3,4)

Formula used:

Distance between two points (x1,y1)and(x2,y2) is given by

  (x1x2)2+(y1y2)2

Slope of a line joining two points (x1,y1)and(x2,y2) is y2y1x2x1

Calculation:

Let the four vertices of the quadrilateral be A(7,2),B(2,8),C(6,2)andD(3,4)

Using Distance formula, we have

Distance between two points (x1,y1)and(x2,y2)=(x1x2)2+(y1y2)2

  AB=(72)2+(28)2=81+36=117

  BC=(26)2+(82)2=16+36=52CD=(6+3)2+(2+4)2=81+36=117=ABDA=(3+7)2+(42)2=16+36=52=BC

So we get that the opposite sides are equal.

Now, let’s find the slope of the sides AB,BC,CDandDA

Slope of AB=822+7=23

Slope of BC=2862=32

Slope of CD=4236=23

Slope of DA=2+47+3=32

Therefore, we get

Slope of AB= Slope of CD … (i)

Slope of BC= Slope of DA … (ii)

We know that if the slopes of two lines are equal then they are parallel, then we have

  ABCDandBCDA

Also, Slope of AB=1SlopeofBC … (iii)

And, Slope of CD=1SlopeofDA … (iv)

We know that if the slope of a line is equal to the negative reciprocal of the other line then they are perpendicular

  ABBC,ABDA,CDBCandCDDA

Thus, the opposite sides are equal and parallel. Also, all the angles are right angles.

Hence, it is a rectangle.
