The reason the way catalytic abilities of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) are restricted by its secondary structure when compared to RNA (ribonucleic acid). The reason behind the catalytic nature of RNA.

Introduction:

DNA and RNA are macromolecules present in the cell. These macromolecules contain information to form proteins that carry out all the necessary functions of the cell. According to the Central Dogma, DNA is self-replicating and can also pass down the genetic information to an RNA strand. This occurs by a process called transcription. The RNA molecule further forms proteins by the process of translation.
