Summary Introduction
Every year, more than a million people travel worldwide. However, a great percentage of these travellers may acquire traveller’s diarrhea, a rapidly dehydrating medical condition. One of the chief causative agents of traveller’s diarrhea is Escherichia coli. Commonly, E. coli strains are harmless and they usually reside in the intestine. There are six pathotypes in diarrheagenic E.coli.
