Introduction:
Hagfishes and lampreys both belong to the class Agnatha and phylum Chordata. These fishes are jawless and engulf their food with the help of a sucking mouth. The notochord in lamprey is surrounded by cartilage, but notochord in hagfishes is not surrounded by any membrane. Both these fishes are eel-like and do not have fins.
