Explanation of Solution

The process that is employed for the alternate chip forming process in modern industries to cut the workpiece into two or more parts is called sawing. The tool used in sawing consists of a series of narrowly spaced teeth. Because of this teeth the chip produced in the process confined in between the narrowly spaced teeth, after that chip will move out of the teeth.

In the majority of the chip forming process, the chip production length is high depending on the material used, velocity and feed. Whereas in the sawing process, there is minimum wastage of metal compared to chip forming processes. Therefore, in the view of wastage of material sawing is more efficient than other chip forming process.
