Chapter 25.1, Problem 2SB
Summary Introduction

To review:

The difference in the theories about the sites for the origin of life.

Introduction:

The Oparin–Haldane theory of origin was discovered by two scientists, Aleksandr I. Oparin and J. B. S. Haldane. It was based on the assumption that the earth’s prehistoric atmosphere was completely different from its current atmosphere. Prehistoric earth’s atmosphere enabled numerous reduction reactions, which produced a large number of organic molecules. Life on earth usually existed at a place where there are sources of energy or chemicals that help in the formation of basic metabolic molecules.
