Kinases (an example of a transferase class of enzymes) are involved in various metabolic processes. One of the new research findings says that a protein kinase M zeta ( $\text{PKMζ}$ ) is observed to be responsible for the maintenance of long-term memory. Moreover, drugs are designed such as ZIP that countersacts on the $\text{PKMζ}$ activity. The drug test carried on rats that show similarity in metabolic processes as that of humans could help to know more about food aversion and its relation with memory.
