Summary Introduction
Those organisms that carry out photon capture to obtain energy are called as phototrophs. They use light as the energy to carry out different metabolic processes. Most of the well identified phototrophs are autotrophs, they are also known as photoautotrophs. The photoautotrophs have ability of synthesis their own food from inorganic substances using light as the source of energy.
