Summary Introduction
Multicellular communities that are formed by the bacteria are called as biofilm. The biofilm consists of bacteria encased inside with a polysaccharide, non-extracellular matrix of proteins and small molecules. The formation of biofilm provides an increased preservation of bacteria from the host defenses and antibiotics. The biofilm may form on non-living and living surface and it can be prevalent in industrial, natural and hospital settings.
