Explanation of Solution
In an aqueous solution, the solvent is liquid water. Here, water has two parts, hydrogen ion has a partial positive charge and hydroxide ion has a partial negative charge. An ion can be positive or negative. Now, the positive ion gets surrounded by negatively charged hydroxide ions and the negative ion gets surrounded by a positive hydrogen ion. Thus, the reason for ions to become solvated in an aqueous solution is the partial positive and negative charge on the water molecule.
