Concept explainers
Interpretation:
The conditions that real gases behave most ideally have to be described.
Concept Introduction:
The gases which deviate from ideal behavior are known as real gases.
The ideal
The ideal gas law can be expressed as-
The gases obey this equation behaves ideally. These gases are known as ideal gas.
Answer to Problem 21A
The real gases behave most ideally at higher temperature and low pressure.
Explanation of Solution
The real gases behave most ideally at higher temperature and low pressure. Because at higher temperature the inter-molecular force of attraction between the gas molecules becomes negligible and the gas behave ideally. At low pressure the molecules are very small compared to the volume filled by the gas and the molecules stay far apart from each other. So, the force of attraction between the gas molecules becomes negligible and behaves ideally.
