Chapter 9, Problem 9.119CHP
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The partial pressure of each gas in the product mixture has to be calculated.

Concept Introduction:

Ideal gas equation is an equation that is describing the state of an imaginary ideal gas.

PV=n RT

Where,

P is the pressure of the gas

V is the volume

n is the number of moles of gas

R is the universal gas constant (R=0.0821LatmK-1mol-1)

T is the temperature

Partial Pressure:

Dalton’s law of partial pressure states that “the total pressure (P) of the mixture is equal to the sum of the partial pressures (PA, PB, PC.....) of all the component gases (A, B, C......)  present in the mixture” and is given as,

P = PA + PB + PC + .......

The ideal gas law for the individual gas component A is given as,

PAV = nART

Mole Fraction:

The mole fraction of A = nAn=PAP

Consider the reaction 483.6 kJ mol·' + 2 H¿O(g) → 2 H2(g) + O2(g) If 2.0 moles of H2O(g) are converted to H2(g) and O2(g) against a pressure of 1.0 atm at 125 °C, what is AU for this reaction?
The generic reaction occurs in a closed container: 2A(g) +Big) → 2Cg) A reaction mixture initially contains 2.0L of gas A and 1.5L of gas B. Assuming that the volume and temperature of the reaction mixture remain constant, what is the precent change in pressure if the reaction goes to completion?
5) Consider the reaction below. Co(g) + 2H¿(g) → CH,OH(g) 1.5 L of hydrogen gas and 3.5 L of carbon monoxide gas, both at 45 °C and 1.28 atm are in separate containers separated by a value. When the value is opened the two gases mix and react, according to the above reaction. a) Please determine the limiting reagent and the theoretical yield. b) If the percent yield is 67.3%, what is the concentration of the product in the final reaction mixture? c) What is the partial pressure of the product in the final reaction mixture?
