Hypercholesterolemia is categorized by high levels of cholesterol in the blood. The abnormal build up cholesterol leads to clumps, which can hinder the flow of blood by narrowing the blood vessel.
Inherited forms of hypercholesterolemia can cause health-related problems, which are related to the build up of excess cholesterol in the tissues.
