The phenomenon of macromolecular crowding can be defined as a physicochemical phenomenon in which many different types of molecules are present in the cell at high concentrations of thetotal volume of the celland similar molecules are separated from the dissimilarones. An activity coefficient is described as a factor used to study the deviations of any substance or a reaction from its ideal conditions.
