Chapter 44.4, Problem 3SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The two major mechanisms that drive the exchange of molecules and ions between capillaries and interstitial fluid.
Introduction:
An exchange of ions and molecules occurs between capillaries and interstitial fluid. A certain force or energy is required for the diffusion of materials for its exchange. The smaller particles in the fluid pass through the capillaries directly and the larger ones are facilitated by the carrier proteins.
