Case summary:
SWU is a large state college situated in city T where the sign-up student capacity is close to 20,000. SWU is known for its football team, which falls in top 20 rankings. With the aim of reaching number 1 ranking, Person PF was hired as the head coach in 2012. Since then, the attendance of Saturday games increased each year.
Attendance ranged from 25,000 to 29,000 per game. The season ticket has increased by 10,000 just when the declaration of the new head coach was made. SWU faced an issue apart from increasing the NCAA ranking. The old stadium, which was constructed in 1953 with a seating capacity of 54,000, was the major concern of SWU.
The newly appointed head coach demanded the reconstruction of the old stadium with separate dormitories for his players. With the expanding attendance, the President, Person J, wanted his Vice President to forecast with the past data and discover how long it would take the stadium to reach its maximum capacity. The average ticket price was $50 in 2019 and there was a 5% raise each year in the future. The attendance data from 2013 to 2018 is given.
