Interpretation:

The structural formula for the section of DNA that contains the base sequence CTG and is phosphorylated at 3' end only has to be drawn.

Concept Introduction:

The DNA consists of Nucleotides which are linked together by phosphodiester linkages.  The DNA is a Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid, the sugar unit is 2-deoxy-D-ribose.  The phosphodiester linkages are formed when the hydroxyl group (-OH) present at 5' position of one nucleotide is linked with 3' hydroxyl group (-OH) of another nucleotide by a phosphate ion.  This phosphodiester linkages of nucleotides forms the backbone of the DNA structure.  The bases present in the DNA sequence are read from 5' end to 3' end.
