Concept explainers
To Explain: Whether green light could be used to pump a red laser and red light cannot be used to pump a green laser.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
A light with more energy can pump the light. Green light has more energy than red light.
Green light could be used to pump a red laser because green light has more energy compared to red light so green light can pump light. As red has less energy it gets pumped by green light. Hence, red light can't be used to pump green light.
Conclusion
Hence, green light can be used to pump a red laser but not the other way around since energy of red light is lower than green.
