Interpretation: The correct suffix for the few enzyme names has to be stated.

Concept introduction: The aspects for the naming of enzymes are given below.

• • The suffix “ase” helps in the identification of a substance as an enzyme.  For few of the enzymes, the suffix “in” is also used.
• • The type of reaction that the enzyme catalyzes is identified by the prefix.
• • The substrate can also be identified by the suffix of the enzyme.
