Chapter 20, Problem 6CYU
Summary Introduction
To review:
The four vessels that transport blood to the brain and the vessel giving rise to these vessels.
Introduction:
The systemic arteries distribute oxygenated blood to the capillaries of various tissues and organs of the body. The largest artery of the body is the aorta which carries oxygenated blood from the left ventricle of the heart. There are various branches of the aorta that are associated with the transportation of oxygenated blood to various parts of the body.

Why is blood flow to the brain relatively continuous and constant?
The following sequence traces the flow of arterial blood to the left parietal and temporal lobes of the brain. Tell which artery is missing: Blood leaves the heart and passes through the aorta, the left common carotid artery, and the middle cerebral artery. (a) vertebral, (b) brachiocephalic, (c) internal carotid, (d) basilar.
What areas of the brain are supplied by the MIDDLE CEREBRAL ARTERY?
