Skin is marvelous, flexible, and tough membrane and is also known as “cutaneous membrane”. It covers about 2 square meters in adults, making it the largest organ of the body. The thickness of the skin in humans varies from 0.05mm present on the lips to 4.0mm on the sole of feet. It is composed of two layers, dermis and epidermis.
