Chapter 19, Problem 4MTF
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Skin is a flexible and tough outer membrane that is also known as a cutaneous membrane. It has physical and chemical properties that make it an important barrier against harmful pathogens. It restricts infection and disease unless it has been cut broken. Fungi reside on the epidermal layer of skin and are hardly pathogenic. They grow in small clumps in the body, where conditions are slightly wet such as armpits, genital areas, and between the legs.
