Introduction:
The process of coagulation is one of the five mechanisms required to maintain hemostasis. It can proceed through two pathways: the intrinsic pathway and the extrinsic pathway. Both these pathways terminate and merge in a common pathway, which leads to the formation of fibrin that acts as a glue and seals the damaged blood vessels.
