Chapter 19, Problem 16CYR
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Blood is an important connective tissue of the body. It is required for the homeostatic functions of the body, including blood pressure maintenance, tissue oxygenation, and electrolyte balance. Blood loss due to injury threatens these hematostatic functions. However, the process of hemostasis minimizes the loss of blood by five main mechanisms: vascular spasm, platelet plug formation, coagulation, clot retraction, and thrombolysis.
