The way through which affinity chromatography can be used to isolate a protein that is suspected to be steroid hormone-binding protein.

Introduction:

Steroid hormones are hydrophobic hormonesproduced by the cells of the endocrine glands, which are carried by the steroid hormone-binding protein to the target sites. On reaching the target sites, they are liberated from the carrier protein and diffuse through the plasma membrane. On entering the target cell, they bind to intracellular receptors.
