Question
Chapter 14.10, Problem 2MQ
Summary Introduction
Dissimilative sulfur reducers are Proteobacteria that are widely distributed in the aquatic and terrestrial environment where sulfate is available. These bacteria are often seen in association with green sulfur bacteria because they oxidize hydrogen sulfide to elemental sulfur. The physiology of sulfur reducing bacteria is more diverse when compared to the sulfate reducing bacteria.
