Explanation of Solution
In contrast to solids, particles are less tightly packed in liquids. Liquids take on that shape when maintained in a container. Compression is challenging in liquids because there is less room for particle mobility. Although liquids have a fixed volume, their shapes are not.
Liquids' physical characteristics are governed by the interactions between and motions of their constituent particles. The distance between liquid particles reduces due to intermolecular interactions as well. Liquids are, therefore, significantly denser than gases.
