Thyroid is an endocrine gland, associated with the secretion of various hormones.The thyroid gland secretes two important hormones, triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxin (T4).There are various raw materials required for the synthesis of these hormones. The deficiency of any raw material leads to the malfunctioning of the gland or inadequate amount of hormones secreted by the gland.
