Political mudslinging during the US Presidential Elections may have ever beaten the presidential elections of 1828 between John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson. During these elections, each side engaged in political mudslinging by slandering the opposition. For instance, Adams was called the "Pimp," by the Jacksonian camp, accusing him of procuring a girl to provide sexual services for the Czar whilst he served as an ambassador to Russia. On the other hand, the Adams's camp said that Jackson was very unintelligent, who spelt Europe as "Urope." The Adams's camp also called Jackson's wife a "dirty black wench" for having gotten together with Jackson before she divorced her first husband.
