In the language of the Aztecs, “Teotihuacan” means “the place where gods were created”. It was, at its time, unusually large and perhaps the largest city ever to exist before the Aztec Civilisation. It is located in the northwest basin of Mexico and could have been rather influential, based on what we know about it. Records say that it was built between 1st century and 7th century CE. You will find lots of monuments here, such as the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon.
In the year 1987, the UNESCO recognised this city as a World Heritage Site.
