PLOS ONE , 16 (11). https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0259528 The authors, Spanish university department leaders, expressed that one priority for society is the utter “pursuit of happiness.” The authors studied various topics which affected happiness, such as: income, job stability, quality of life, familial situations, and even their individual aspects regarding their residential status. They collected their data through anonymous surveys of Spanish citizens. Their conclusions included that those who answered that they had a high sense of well-being and quality of life, seemed to be the happiest. Gender, as well as Covid-19 were significant influences on their quality of answers, with Covid-19 negatively influencing the responded quality of life of those Spanish Citizens. Prager, K. While most people believe that intimacy is concluded only in romantic relationships; this article shows that intimacy can be a determining factor in all types of relationships including friendships, romantic relationships, and familial relationships. This article also states that intimate contact can extend emotional support, love, care, and even a deeper understanding of the self. It is concluded that lack of intimacy is
3 one of the main reasons couples seek counseling, and friendships get damaged. Yet, while recovering to find intimacy within relationships, the induvial must first find personal growth, with which they can bring happiness to such relationship. Health and Quality of Life Outcomes , 18 (1). https://doi.org/10.1186/s12955- 020-01423-y The authors on this article expressed that the measurements once rating well-being have begun to shift towards multidimensional factors like life satisfaction, happiness, and economic priorities. Prior to this research, well-being was thought to be guided by the one-dimensional thought: happiness equals well-being. The authors of this articles used data ranging from 2006 through 2012 from the ESS (European Social Survey) which analyzed 21 countries, which involved approximately 40,000 individuals. Resulting from this data gathering, the authors were able to explore areas of individual well-being and the need for targeted interventions. This article concluded that the well-being of an individual is not one-dimensional relaying only on happiness, but multidimensional relaying on multiple factors. Ryff, C. D. (2021). 4 well-being and other conclusions. The author also studied the nature and nurture of spirituality and how it affected a person’s well-being based on which was used throughout their childhood. The author explores multiple religions and their spiritual differences, and how each religion envisions well-being as a separate entity, and how each contribute to the well-being of their individual members.
