2 Is Child’s Development helped or harmed by Digitized Technologies? A child's health and development are most important during the first few years of life. Children of all abilities, including those who require special medical care, can develop normally if their social, emotional, and educational needs are met. However, different factors, such as exposure to digitized technologies, can have an impact on their health, both positively and negatively. The following article explains the negative and positive effects. Positive Effects of Technology on Children Technology allows children to access information, which fosters creativity quickly. Children can learn social skills and become familiar with various arts and sciences thanks to specialized hardware and software. Second, using technology enables kids to interact with their loved ones, friends, and other people in novel ways (Maryville, 2022). When using video chat or other real-time communication tools, this is particularly valid. Parents and caregivers are learning to slim down down and slow down the applications, games, and other material they use with children in order to prevent overburdening their senses. Kids learn responsible technology use from this. Instead of attempting to completely eliminate all risks related to children's use of technology, the focus should be on reducing those risks and making changes as needed, such as restricting kids' access to devices at certain times of the day. Adverse Effects of Technology on Children Setting consistent limits on various media types, such as gaming consoles and smartphones, is critical because children are prone to overuse technology. For starters, it exposes people to sexual exploitation and harmful online content. The age verification procedures used by social media apps like Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram,
3 and Facebook can be gotten around by kids of all ages. Predators and other dangers could come into contact with kids. Second, it may cause low self-esteem and anxiety. Most teenagers and young adults use Instagram filters to enhance their appearance, even if the finished product does not resemble them. Teenagers who suffer from "self-esteem addiction" may feel inadequate. In conclusion, child’s Development is both helped and harmed by digitized technologies. However, parents need to review the negative and postivie effects and deduce whether they are ready to handles those aspects. Parents also need to take control of how their children use these technologies to avoid any adverse effects.
