Statement of Intent as an Educator
Due to my mother and the excellent accounts teacher, I had as a student, I have always
considered a career as an educator since I was in high school. Being a teacher can teach others
how to teach students in a school setting. We are constantly educating ourselves on new
approaches to adapt to teaching pupils as we move forward in our careers. We all continue to
discover new things about the world, ourselves, and our students as humans. We are shaping the
next generation of leaders in business, the doctor who will save you or a loved one, and even the
teacher who will pass on knowledge to future generations. As teaching constantly changes, you
need to stay current on any new curricula implemented in your school districts. This makes this
line of work so fascinating and fun. transforming our children into outstanding individuals who
will live inspiring lives and have a positive influence on their communities. As a teacher, I would
like to maintain high standards in the classroom by maintaining professionalism. We want to be
an educator to whom our students can come with questions, even if they aren't related to the
subject we're teaching. We ought to guide them to the individuals who might discover more
about it than us, then we by and by would figure out how to get them a response.
Upholding Certification for New York Educators
We must hold a master's degree in our field of study to become educators in New York.
The general core in liberal arts and sciences, the content core in liberal arts and sciences, and the
pedagogical core are all areas for which prescribed coursework is required by the New York
State Department of Education. Six semester hours of concepts in historical and social sciences,
six semester hours of scientific processes, and six semester hours of mathematical processes may
fulfill the general core requirement. Thirty semester hours of coursework in the desired
certificate title must make up the content core. In addition, to fulfill the pedagogical core
3
requirements, applicants must have completed twenty-one semester hours of college coursework.
Case-by-case, Case-by-analyze an applicant's transcript and determine whether the applicant
satisfies certification requirements. To fulfill content core requirements, only undergraduate
courses with a grade of C or higher and graduate courses with a grade of B or higher are
acceptable. Before NYSED issues a first certificate, all deficiencies in coursework must be
addressed. A workshop on child abuse identification, school violence intervention and
prevention, autism, and the dignity for all students act (DASA) needs to be completed as well. In
addition to these workshops, we must complete thirty-six semester hours of approved health and
physical education courses and twelve semester hours of student teaching under college
supervision. Also, all people who hold an NYS Teaching Certificate must submit their
fingerprints for background checks and maintain a TEACH account, which they should regularly
and annually review for accuracy (NYS Department of Education Office of Teaching Initiatives,
2023).
Challenges and Changes to Embrace
It is crucial to stay on top of changes in the educational landscape, such as new
approaches to teaching and learning and the proper use of technology in the classroom.
Technology can feel like an outsider in schools, confound guardians and more seasoned teachers,
or become an appealing interruption. All these dangers can be mitigated with effective
communication. Making sure that initiatives are driven by the needs and concerns of families and
educators can be made easier with careful listening. Describe how to use technology effectively
and how it can increase the likelihood that programs will operate as planned. Teachers will often
be antagonistic if they think technology is meant to replace them; but, if they think it would aid

them in their work, they will be more amenable. Without efficient communication, programs can
"fail," not because of the technology but because of how it was used (Ganimian et al., 2021). I must recognize the changes in the industry to give my pupils the finest learning
environment possible. With mentoring, students' possibilities and accomplishments are
maximized and preparedness for the assumed position is ensured. Since students have adapted to
the new changes in their learning settings, educators must get schooled in new teaching
environment approaches, new curricula, new teaching standards, and new legislation. For
educators to reflect on and advance professional growth, practical field experience is crucial. To
do their best in the classroom and assist kids in academic success, instructors must continue to
learn at every opportunity in addition to teaching students how to succeed. To satisfy all of my
student’s learning needs and reach the full potential of my profession, I must see that I obtain
annual training, seminars, and endorsement certification. Keep up with the best practices in the
physical education field. You want to stay up to date with the most recent CDC guides now that
our global pandemic is over. Also, there are so many ways to teach our students we want to find
the one that works best for each student's IEP. Every student learns differently, so tailoring your
lessons to your class is essential to their success. Keeping students' attention and conveying
concepts in a way that keeps them engaged long after the classroom is a teacher's greatest
challenge.
Continue Professional Growth
Teaching is a collaborative art that cannot be accomplished by one person alone. The
Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the professional organization in which I will
participate. This professional organization promotes the success of children with disabilities
through advocacy and teacher professional development. Due to its global reach, this
5
organization will continue to support me as I advance my career as a Special Education teacher.
They provide teachers with information, strategies, and resources to help them achieve their full
potential in the classroom. The International Association for Special Education (IASE), the
premier organization for SPED professionals who work abroad and are committed to assisting
children with disabilities all over the world, is another organization I intend to join. Through the
publication of an annual journal and a biannual conference held every other year in a new
country, IASE connects educators with research (Lohmann, 2019).
Conclusion
We are also learning about new ways to adapt to teaching students as we move forward
with daily self-education. We are constantly expanding our knowledge of the world, ourselves,
and our students. We are shaping the future lawyers, nurses, and doctors who will save us or a
loved one, and even the educators who will teach future generations. Teaching is the profession
that teaches all the other professions, this changes all the time, and we need to keep up with the
new curriculum that the school districts introduce. This makes this occupation so engaging and
interesting. shaping our students into great people who will achieve remarkable things in life and
affect their communities.
