Having my advisor’s phone number and email saved helps me prioritize my time. I know that when questions and/or issues arise I can reach out to her at any time. She
has already proven that to me. I was able to talk with her about upcoming courses and how I can stay on track for the future and for graduation. Along with this, I also have my instructor who I can use to help guide me and answer questions I may have. Having a real person that I can reach out to helps cut out a lot of time wasted trying to figure out how to solve an issue or question that sometimes might need an immediate response. Instructors and advisors are an excellent resource to help me with my success.

The Shapiro Library is a great resource and tool to help prioritize my time. I can research and find tools and related articles to help with my studies. It provides me with links, advice, supporting documents, and videos to help with what I am working on or wanting to learn more about. For example, I know I have an English course coming soon and I searched through the library and for related topics and articles that will help advance my knowledge on what I may need to know in the future.

Identify at least two social supports (people, places, or things outside of SNHU) that will help you most in prioritizing your time and explain how using these social supports will support your success. (Add bullet points if needed.)

The main social support I use would be my family, especially my husband. He was the main one who pushed
me to further my education. Having his support, not only with my day-to-day dealings, but also with my education helps with stress levels and from feeling overwhelmed. I use him to run my ideas by and for any advice he may have to help me. His support will help in prioritizing my time, thus helping in my success.

As silly as it may sound, another support for prioritizing my time is both my kids school schedule and my work schedule. I work part-time in the early mornings while my kids are in school, and I get off several hours before school lets out. I use this vacant time to do my coursework, studies, and research. This gives me quiet time to focus on my goals without abrupt interruptions. Utilizing this will help me stay the course to my success.

There is a Learning Community available in this course. This community offers you the opportunity to:
Meet virtually with classmates
Join study groups and clubs
Connect with tutors and writing coaches
Practice the skills you need to succeed
Identify two opportunities the Learning Community offers that will help you feel a sense of belonging here at SNHU, and explain how they could help support your success.

I believe combining tutors and writing coaches with practicing the skills I need to succeed go hand in hand. By practicing my skills and then having tutors and/or
writing coaches to help advance my knowledge gives me a sense of relief. To know that they want to help me with my future, lets me know that I am not alone and that I have support. •
Having the option and opportunity to join study groups or meetings classmates virtually, gives me a chance to be with others who have a similar goal-oriented
focus. This will help bolster a sense of belonging. Talking and studying with peers can help with my success, and potentially help with their own success.
4.
Explain how you will take ownership of your future academic success by prioritizing your time with SNHU resources, social supports, and Learning Community opportunities.

Having all these resources at my disposal gives me no excuse for failing. Utilizing these, and what I have already learned, helps me to stay on track and prioritize my time to do what I need to do. These resources are put in place to help with success, but they will not work unless I use them. I will continue to use all these mentioned above to help guide me to not just owning my academic success, but also my future success.
