When it comes to the partnerships with families, each teacher has their own way of accomplishing this with their students. When it come to communication with the
parents of the students in my classroom, I feel like I would want the communication with them as I do my children’s teachers. Having good communication with a parent is how a teacher builds a good relationship with them. Being honest about how the student is doing in class, what could be done at home to help the student in
class, or even about how the student behavior is. Listening to the parent's concern, opinions, and thoughts. Be clear about what is needed of the parent to
make studying for the child at home. Being friendly is one of the most important things I believe is needed of a
teacher. Never make the parent feel like their opinion is not important or irrelevant. Make sure the parents always feel welcomed in the classroom. Providing and coordinating information is essential for everyone, study
guides, goals for the week, or test days. Having professional competency is basically setting high expectations. Doing so you are seething goals for the students that are challenging and strict, so that the students can realize and belief they are capable of achieving the goals. Respecting parents and students is a must, in my opinion, when being a teacher. A teacher must respect everyone’s cultural, strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. They also must treat every student and parent with dignity. For example, treat them with respect and dignity even if you do not agree with them. You can also listen to them with open ears
and mind. Be committed to your students and their families no matter what. Always be available to listen and teach them. If you see a student struggling, go above and beyond to help them understand and succeed. Equality is sharing power with the students, letting them express themselves freely, giving them a voice in the classroom, letting them feel like they are being valued. Advocating for the students is a powerful way to make them feel valued. By seeking win-win solutions and preventing problems in and outside the classroom for the students, by being sure what is going on in the classroom is suitable for all students.
2. Why is it important for teachers to become partners with parents in advocating for the rights and services of children with disabilities?
For parents who have children with disabilities, it can be difficult and stressful at times. But when the parents and their child’s educators have a good partnership, it can help them in many different ways. Advocating for the rights and services of children with disabilities is a great way to encourage the children and help them learn and develop as a person. When a teacher advocates for a child, they are giving effective services for them.
3. Describe
CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
and write a brief summary of how the circle of friends has made a difference in one of the students with disabilities using the following site.
https://www.circleofriends.org/
Talk about how circle of friends made a difference:
The circle of friends made a difference by making all students understand each other, both non-disabled and disabled. It is a fun time for students with special needs
and non special needs students get to know each other. They get to understand each other more of each other on the inside and it helps the disabled students feel more accepted.

5.
Describe a strategy that you would use to enhance positive communication with parents.
I would enhance positive communication with my student's parents, by first making them feel welcomed. I love to get to know every parent, because I feel it helps me to be able to understand the students even more than before. Being friendly, kind, and respectful to the parents is a healthy and positive way of communication. I would be sure to have a remind, sent out at
least once a week, informing the parents on what is going on in class that week and what the students need to study for test.
