Chapter 9.1, Problem 1CS
Summary Introduction
To describe: The effects of light in the distribution of auxin produced by a plant’s growing shoot tip.
Introduction: The reason for a cell to communicate is to share its information with other cells. It is also known as cell-to-cell communication. In this process, cells also receive information from other cells.

Drain off excess alcohol from the buds and aseptically excise the anthers from each bud. Remove the filaments and culture the anther on one of the agar media provided. Label the stage of development of the bud on each petri dish as the anthers are cultured. Seal the Petri dishes with parafilm. Incubate in the dark at 26 to 28ºC for 4 to 8 weeks or until small plants can be seen growing out of the anthers. Then transfer to diffuse light. Record the results of the experiment in table form and submit the report. Observation: The culture was contaminated after 8 weeks of incubation…arrow_forward

What are inter nodes and where are they located? 4. What is the function of the lenticels? Do all stems have lenticels? 5. How can you differentiate a monocot plant from a dicot plant just by looking at the stem? 6. What advantage would herbaceous stems have over woody stems? 7. - Please help this is hw and I want to know why I'm wrong Why do many plants use pathways that detect light to regulate their flowering? Selected Answer: This allows plants to link flowering to temperature, which corresponds to the season when conditions are optimal Answers: This allows plants to link flowering to day length, which corresponds to the season when conditions are optimal Flower petals carry out high levels of photosynthesis and require high light conditions This allows plants to link flowering to temperature, which corresponds to the season when conditions are optimal A minimum amount of light is always necessary for floweringarrow_forwardUse images to do exercise 1.
