Introduction:

Electron transport chain (ETC) is embedded into the inner mitochondrial membrane. It consists of a series of the electron transporting molecules. In the second stage of cellular respiration, the high energy electron carriers each release two high energy electrons into the electron transport chain. High energy electrons hop from molecule to molecule along the ETC.
