Chapter 8, Problem 4MC
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Glucose
Glycolysis is an anaerobic reaction that occurs when a cell releases oxygen followed by glucose breakdown. Fermentation occurs after glycolysis and produces ethanol and carbon dioxide as by-products. Fermentation is an “anaerobic process”. In this cycle, NADH is converted into NAD+ that is reused for glucose breakdown. Then cellular respiration occurs that produces NADH molecules and generates most ATP molecules.
