Introduction:

Glycolysis is an anaerobic process, during which each glucose molecule is converted to form two pyruvate molecules, containing threecarbons each. Two molecules, each of NADH (reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and ATP (adenosine triphosphate), are also produced. Glycolysis completes in two stages, namely Stage 1 and Stage 2. The cleavage of the fructose-1, 6-bisphosphate occurs at the end of Stage 1.
