To review:

The effect of glucagon and insulin on the metabolism of glucose.

Introduction:

Glucose acts as the source of energy in most of the living organisms. The glucose molecule undergoes a series of reactions in order to generate ATP (adenosine triphosphate). The metabolism of glucose is controlled mainly by two hormones, which are insulin and glucagon. Insulin is secreted by beta Langerhans cells of the pancreas whereas glucagon is secreted by alpha Langerhans cells of the pancreas.
