To review:

The production of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate from fructose-6-phosphate and the subsequent production of dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate.

Introduction:

During the process of glycolysis, the glucose molecule is metabolized in order to produce two molecules of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), two molecules of NADH (reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), and two molecules of pyruvate. Glycolysis takes place in a series of 10steps, which can be categorized into two stages. Stage one is called the investment stage and stage two is called the payoff stage.
