Introduction:

The sequence of chemical reactions and molecular events that results in a response of a cell to a particular signal is known as a signal transduction pathway. A signal (ligand), receptor, and response are the basic components of the signal transduction pathway. The chemical signals that are released by some cells are transported to its target location by the circulatory system in the animal and via the vascular system in case of plants.
