Concept explainers
(a)
Interpretation:
The balanced ionic equation for given reaction should be written.
Concept introduction:
Acid-base neutralization reaction:
The aqueous solution of acid react with aqueous solution of base to produce soluble salt with water in known as acid-base neutralization reaction because of where neutralization is occur.
Balanced equation:
The total number of atoms or ions that are present in reactant and product side of the equation is equal means equation is known as balanced equation.
Ionic equation:
All atoms and molecules that are present in the equation is written in the form of ions is known as ionic equation.
Net ionic equation:
Only the species, which are involving in product formation in present in the equation is known as net ionic equation.
The net ionic equation is derived from cancelling of spectator ions in ionic equation.
