Given information:

  $\begin{array}{l}y=5x+1\\ 4x+y=10\end{array}$

  $y=5x+1$ -----(1)

  $4x+y=10$ ------(2)

Substitute the value of y from equation-(1) in equation-(2)

We get

  $\begin{array}{l}4x+y=10\\ \Rightarrow 4x+5x+1=10\\ \Rightarrow 9x+1=10\\ \Rightarrow 9x=10-1\\ \Rightarrow 9x=9\\ \Rightarrow x=1\end{array}$

Substitute value of $x$ in equation-(1)

We get

  $\begin{array}{l}y=5x+1\\ \Rightarrow y=5\left(1\right)+1\\ \Rightarrow y=5+1\\ \Rightarrow y=6\end{array}$

Therefore, values of x and y are

  $\begin{array}{l}x=1\\ y=6\end{array}$
